We’ve always had a soft spot for the New Jersey post-punk legends The Feelies (read this heartfelt interview we did with them in 2009 if you don’t believe me). After all, to quote: “Very few bands can boast a career with as much longstanding consistency and artistic integrity as The Feelies. Originally formed in 1976 by Haledon, N.J.-based high school classmate-singers/guitar players Glenn Mercer and Bill Million, The Feelies made a name for itself with its brilliantly manic jangle guitar interplay and unpredictable, yet always memorable, pop arrangements.”
So, there.
This Friday, they are back @ 930 club. Tickets are definitely still available but we also have a pair to give away. For a chance to win them-leave us a comment telling us what is, in your opinion, the song with THE MOST feeling ever made.
We will notify the winners by lunchtime Thursday. Cool? Cool.
The Smiths- How Soon Is Now? Moz for the win in being emo and in life.
without hesitation – ‘SAVE HIM’ JUSTIN NOZUKA
Hurt covered by Johnny cash ! I shiver every time i listen to it
“Blower’s Daughter” -Damien Rice
I’m tempted to say “More than a Feeling,” but that doesn’t have all that much feeling. So I’ll say “Ramblin’ Man” by Hank Williams. An incredibly simple song with forgettable lyrics, but his vocal is terrifying and saddening. He sounds like a wild animal who has doesn’t understand his urge but knows he has no choice but to follow it.
Without a doubt, I’d have to offer: Golden Palominos “Alive And Living Now” from Drunk with Passion. Michael Stipe on lead vocals. gets me every time.
That’s easy, Irene Cara FLASHDANCE (what a feeling)
Cough Syrup – Young the Giant!!!
