Meeting them at a concert at my college last year. One of the funnest shows I’ve ever been to. They wanted to come back, but the school couldn’t make it happen. They even said theyd play a house party, but no one wanted to…

hmmm.. My favorite Dance Party memory..?

It was definitely at my pal’s going-away party when his grandparents showed up at 7pm- two hours before the party. The only thing to do was let them in and we couldn’t cancel the party…so from 9-1 am these 70 something year olds were joining us dancing to Madonna and David Guetta! I’m not embarassed to say that it was one of the BEST dance parties of my life- and I’ve had my share.

It’s hard to have a single favorite moment. But what I love about this band is the energy they bring to the stage; their concerts are really a dance party. Everyone in the crowd is pumped and dancing like fools, myself included :) They’re one of my favorite local bands. I’ve seen them seven times and never get tired of seeing them live…and a free ticket for once sounds pretty rad. I love Mick’s moves on stage and Kevin shreds. Mick did mention one time that they’d get me drinking and crowd surfing on the balcony at 9:30, a while back. I’m sure that would make for a good memory, still waiting on that one haha

  • Chris says:

I do not currently have a memory of Dance Party. The most likely explanation is that I have seen them many times but have been abducted by aliens and had my memory of them erased each time. There are a number of nights from my younger days of which I don’t have a very distinct memory, and I blame that on the aliens as well.

If you give me the tickets, I’ll do my best to fend off the aliens this time. Seeing the band and remembering it at all will be my new best memory of Dance Party.

Warped tour. Mickey jumped off stage, threw his sun glasses to my best friend and grabbed my hand and twirled me around during Sasha- Kevin Says stage in VA beach. “Cannot stop dancing”.

My favorite DP memory was when I met the drummer’s dad at the bar upstairs at 9:30 Club a few years ago and showed him a picture I had just taken where the lead singer’s balls and shaft were clearly visible through his oh-so-tight pants. I kept repeating “balls…shaft, balls…shaft” and pointing to the picture on my camera. Seriously though, Mick’s pants are always insanely tight.

I was parting late night after a TDP show with Kevin (lead guitar / total bro) crushing some wings and beers. All of a sudden in a drunken late night food moment I begin to choke on a chicken wings. 30 sec in im starting to panic and turn blue! I motion for Kevin to help but his finger just wasnt long enough to reach down and grab it. So he did what any bro would do…..he whipped it out and stuck it down my throat clearing the air passage.

Dick to mouth resuscitation saved my life bro.

    Thanks Kevin

the first time i saw the dance party was when they opened for “army of me” eons ago in dc… I was of course floored by the sheer sexiness/raditude of the band and knew i was a fan for life. my favorite memory was when i took my friends to see them at the rock and roll hotel for my birthday last year. it was the best gift i could have ever asked for. we danced the night away and were all sweaty, happy, and loving life. Being able to look on the stage and seeing mick’s radiant jesus-like bod and then turning around to see all my best friends dancing their asses off was my personal heaven. nothing brings people together more than great music, and I can’t wait to relive the magic that is a dance party concert on friday! The 9:30 club is home to some of my fondest memories, and this friday will be yet another incredible evening to add to that list.

I don’t have a “The Dance Party” memory yet since i’m new to DC… Back down in Florida this sounds like the kind of night where it’s past last call and you are dancing on a bar with a beer in one hand and a slice of pizza in the other, and have to be told what you did with the rest of your night.

The one I’m still not going to have on Saturday morning after winning free tickets, blowing that money on extra booze, blacking out, doing something ridiculous, getting thrown out, and waking up wondering how the show ended, and why my elbow hurts.

  • PBRthur says:

My best Dance Party memory is that I don’t really *have* memories, just a pleasant haze where the memories should be.

  • DR.Perky says:

hearing them cover I Wanna Be Your Lover by Prince and getting awesome hugs from Mick and Moose :)

Dancing so much I forgot my purse was open. All my stuff flying in the air. Then on my knees trying to find everything.
Finding some of the stuff. Then back up to keep dancing!!!
    It is always worth it..
