Milan Fashion Week 2012! Another special edition of STYLE LICKS – “Italians do it better.” Sophia Loren, cat-eye liner, PRADA, no problem. Covering the latest from Milan’s catwalks, take-in 10 Italian designers this Fall. Tutto Bene! Also, apparently a tribute to top model Bette Franke who looks amazing in everything she puts on.
A strong shift from the soft-hued “Rococo” of Spring’s 2012 collections, black, black, black, ruled the runway. Italian super brands Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci pay tribute to the “art of darkness,” highlighting various periods of artistic movement and STYLE to include the Baroque and the Pre-Raphaelite. Donatella Versace moves into the 21st Century with Gothic iconography from silk-embroidered crosses, bejeweled black velvet and leather thigh-highs, to a multitude of models sporting Rooney Mara’s bold/blunt bang. ALSO, Belgian fashion designer Raf Simons debuts his farewell collection for Jil Sander F/W 2012.
