The Funk Ark have a busy week ahead: first a CD release this weekend @ Montserrat House (details and tickets here) for their upcoming HIGH NOON record and then they’re playing the BYT/ESL jamboree next Thursday in NYC. YAY.

So-to get you all revved up for these, here is MAMAJO, a song that was recently named a “Top Tune” at KCRW in LA, and was then named “Song of the Week” by National Geographic.

It is “Afrobeat with a Latin twist– it’s all horns, tasty guitar licks and plenty of percussion.”
