It’s technically still summer. It stopped feeling like summer over the weekend. BLT Steak said goodbye to the season last night with their, “86 Summer, 86 Bucks” charity rooftop grill-out. Summer was nowhere to be seen. It didn’t matter.
In addition to standing on the roof a building with an excellent view of the Washington Monument and nearby buildings draped in obscenely large American flags, the charity crowd enjoyed savory treats from Chef Jon Mathieson (BLT Steak), Chef RJ Cooper (Rogue 24), Chef David Guas (Bayou Bakery), Chef Anthony Lombardo (1789) and Chef Scot Harlan (Green Pig Bistro). And popoevers. The BLT popovers were a big, hot, eaten quickly hit.
Besides warming their bodies with food, happy people used Stella Artois, Stella Cidre, Hess Wines and specialty cocktails from mixologist Steve Oshana.
