I swung by Poste on Eighth Street Monday night to check out an event put together by the Arlington Art Center and the Pink Line Project. “Artist Speed Dating” grouped together collectors, gallery-goers, and art lovers with twenty regional artists, including David Page, Victoria F. Gaitan, Ding Ren, Lee Gainer, Steven Pearson, Mary Early, Lisa McCarty, Jason Horowitz, A. Clarke Bedford, Mark Cameron Boyd, Kathleen Shafer, Suzi Fox, and more. Conversations were fenced into a 3 minute time limit before a bell would ring and the daters would rotate to a new artist. The project shone through the brief rain, demystifying the personas behind the art works and offering the public a rare moment of direct dialogue with the artists.
