It’s about to get real intellectual. Ha, just kidding, Twitter isn’t intellectual. Though I will give props to those out there who have decided to take it upon themselves to create Twitter accounts for past literary figures. A lot of these accounts are simply quotes, but there are some full of comedic gold.
This is essentially popular song lyrics translated into Shakespeare’s vernacular. It can be hard to decipher which songs they’re from (unless I’m just terrible with popular music) but when you finally figure it out, it’s worth it. I can definitely say I snorted out loud at work a few times reading his tweets.
The king of morbidity’s Twitter account keeps true to the macabre. It’s not really funny per say, more uncomfortable than anything, but those of you with a darker sense of humor will appreciate it.
It’s about the beard on Walt Whitman’s Twitter page. It’s also about the alcohol. Because that really is the essence of Walt Whitman: facial hair and lots of rye whiskey.
Wilder has been dead for awhile so it’s hard for her to acclimated to the ’10s (is that what we’re writing now?). Despite being in Twitter, she’s still stuck in that little house on the prairie.
