You probably get it; we’re SO VERY EXCITED for Friday’s BYT / National Geographic Local Tourist party.
And how could we not be? You’ve probably read there will be big cats. You may have seen there’s a Titanic exhibit. There will be martial arts with glow sticks. There will be performance art. There will be food trucks. There will be a scavenger hunt in the NatGeo building. There will be giant hamster balls and magic and drinks and dancing and TED-style talks and rare footage of wildlife and everything incredible. But what I cannot wait for, above and beyond all else, is NatGeo’s exhibit Samurai: The Warrior Transformed.
Level with me. What the fuck out there is cooler than a samurai? I’ve spent much of the day wishing for samurai stealth, dexterity and the swift hand of justice (to no avail; this will continue to take decades of practice–if it’s ever realized at all, no doubt). HOWEVER, we can all get a head start and 10 steps ahead with NatGeo and their exhibit this Friday, so we don’t end up like this guy. Dear god, don’t end up like this guy.
