Sexy Kids bandmates Roxanne Clifford and Patrick Doyle teamed up with James Hoare of Your Twenties (whom they met, in true indie pop fashion, at a Comet Gain show) and their friend Marion Herbain to form Veronica Falls in 2009. Similar to Sexy Kids, Veronica Falls’ pop-oriented, reverb-kissed tunes were rooted in mid-’80s influences like the Shop Assistants and the Chills but also found them in line with noisy, poppy contemporaries like Grass Widow and Vivian Girls.
