IT’S FRIDAY, WHAT TUNES ARE YOU BUMPIN’?
May 25, 2012 | 2:00PM

IT’S A THREE-DAY WEEKEND. To celebrate, we’ve got a BYT photographer roundup of the sweet tunes we’re bumpin’ to get us through the work day…. So………. Close………………

  • Jeff Martin

Flight Facilities – With You (ft. Grovesnor)
How is every Flight Facilities single so different but equally amazing? Did you catch last week’s to-be-continued episode of SVU on scopolamine? In my head I picture Detective Amaro singing this tune to his manipulative escort seductress. The music video’s hat tip to Daft Punk’s Interstella 5555 is icing on the cake.

Neil Young – Old Man (Sound Remedy Remix)
As far as dubstep remixes of untouchable songs go, I think it’s harder to hate on this one than most. Ok, ok I’ll admit it, I can’t stop listening. They kept all the good parts.

Yolanda Be Cool – Afro Nuts (DCUP remix)
(Equal parts Mylo-DestroyRock&Roll and catchy latino jibber jabber. As a bonus you can pretend to know the lyrics by chanting “ZOU BISOU BISOU” over and over again. It kind of works. Heard this one at wine riot via DJ Andie Verbance.

    Metric – Speed The Collapse
My google calendar tells me we are a mere 18 days away from the release of Synthetica and I might actually like this better than “Youth Without Youth.”

    -

Françoise Hardy – Le temps de l’amour
Okay, please go see Moonrise Kingdom as soon as you can, with someone you really really like, and cherish every ridiculous gem it has to offer. For now, marvel at Françoise Hardy’s flawless bone structure while she rows this boat. Or go to Zou Bisou Bisou tomorrow. Or something.

    Grimes – Nightmusic
Last night, I dreamt that I was a woodland creature hanging out with Claire Boucher in this video.
