October 25, 2010 | 11:20AM

Looking for something to do in between the Colbert/Stewart rally and that sweet Halloween house party you’ve been  looking forward to on Saturday? Well, look no further because Red Bull is bringing their SoundClash series to DC on October 30th, 5pm, on 4th and Penn, where for a bargain 10 bucks (tickets here) you get to see WALE AND TOKYO POLICE CLUB face-off on two stages positioned on opposite ends of the venue with the audience in the middle.

In a series of four rounds, the bands perform various tasks—some rehearsed, some improvised—to showcase the range of their musical abilities. The audience participates in the back-and-forth exploration between the bands by judging each round. Which band will be the best to anticipate the other? Which band will have the stamina to keep going? The audience decides who the winner will be.

Anyway, we have a bunch of VIP tickets to this to give away and we’ll be doing so all this week. SO-LETS KICK OF WITH 4PAIRS today.

To enter to win, let us know in the comments what your favorite musical collaboration of all time (?) is (duet, remix, video, etc….)

GOOOOOOOOOO

    Speaking of Tokyo Police Club.

A beautiful song remixed to be even more beautiful. Way better than any DJ could have done.

Best collaboration ever…? Easy.. RUN DMC and Aerosmith, Walk this Way… Not only did this video rock, it was one of the original rock-rap collaborations. Still makes me want sweet addis shoes and features a completely impractical scene where some rappers are angry with a skinny white guy for being too loud.

I remember the first time I heard The Postal Service’s remix of Mushaboom. It was the first time I’d heard a remix that wasn’t introduced with some d-bag yelling “REMIXXXXXX” and then doing a shitty beat box

I looooooved Timbaland’s “Shock Value” That entire album was brilliant. We’ve all heard the Black and White album, or various tracks where an artist mashed with one other artist, but Timbaland pulled a plethora of talents from all walks of the music world and put it on one album. Every track is a collaboration. If I were to pick one song off that album though I might have to go with ‘One and Only’ featuring Fallout Boy, with ‘Throw it On Me’ featuring The Hives perhaps coming in at a close second.

Cap’n Rad, if I were choosing I’d say you win. But I think we all lose due to the fact this concert even exists.
