Giveaway: Party From The Heart @ Arena Stage
July 20, 2012 | 1:15PM

It’s not every day you get the chance to drink, dance, nibble and be entertained all for a good cause.  But now we’ve made it even easier for you to show your support, by having a pair of tickets up for grabs to Monday’s Party From The Heart at Arena Stage.  Wanna know what you get if you win? See below:

On July 23rd, join the hottest cast found on any DC stage and more than 500 of DC’s most politically passionate and arts-minded individuals for a very special benefit presentation of The Normal Heart followed by an 80’s dance party. Hailed by critics as “riveting” (Newsday) and “a great night at the theater” (New York Times), The Normal Heart is an outrageous and totally unforgettable look at sexual politics during the AIDS crisis and remains one of the theater’s most powerful evenings ever.

Just $80 to enjoy the show and the after-party and support a damn great cause. All proceeds benefit Arena Stage and the Washington AIDS Partnership. As the largest private funder of HIV/AIDS prevention, education, and advocacy in the region, the Partnership awards more than $1 million in local grants annually.

  • Full Open Bar
  • Authentic New York Street Food
  • Live DJ Spinning the Heartbeat of 80’s Dance Classics
  • Complimentary Valet Parking — Metro Accessible

Tickets are still available.  Buy them here to support a FANTASTIC cause and we’ll see you there!

I was already going to go protest the Westboro Baptist Church’s protest of the International AIDS Conference on Wednesday, but now I’m also going to rescue a puppy.

I will continue to perform random , yet consistent, acts of kindness towards my fellow man and within my general environment. Lord knows what a simple greeting can do to benefit one’s well being…

I have participated in the AIDS walk every year since I moved down to DC for college. This year my goal is to amp up the fundraising. This will be my five year anniversary of the AIDS walk and the idea is to try to raise $500 for my team. For those of you good at math, uh oh, I just graduated college. Thus the money will not be my own (I majored in theatre, I don’t even know what $500 looks like) but the end result will be good things happening for a good cause.

I will convince everyone I know to go out and buy a ticket to this amazing show before it closes!

  • jeff says:

I will donate the money I would have normally spent on tickets to a performing arts theatre company in DC.

  • Sorry, I don't carry cash says:

I’ll give $5 to every beggar that approaches me over the next week, because though I really never carry cash, I’ll probably take out lots and lots of it for the Union Market Summer Spectacular and Farm-to-Street Party. (p.s. I turn 25 on July 23rd!)

Umm.. follow-up 80s dance party. I’ve got the baddest old school moves out there. Watching me do “the sprinkler” or pull out my Hammer time is bound to get people’s blood pumping and clear some arteries. Public service. Check!
