Gay Best Weekend Bets
Gays BYT | Aug 23, 2012 | 1:00PM |

Summer days are drifting away, and it seems like everyone’s trying to cram in as many bathing suits and burlesque shows and tea dances as they can before the specter of another snowmageddon rears its frosty head. It’s the last weekend of summer (kind of)! Live it up!

The Red Palace has Wonderland Erotic Rock and Roll Circus, a live music, burlesque, and erotic spoken word performance all with an Alice In Wonderland theme!

The Bentzen Ball Presents: Picture This! @ The Kennedy Center Millennium Stage
$0 / $0
Millennium Stage shows are free and happen at The Kennedy Center. More info here: What is Picture This!? PICTURE THIS! is a new show from Brandie Posey & Sam Varela: two girls who want to push the boundaries of what a comedy show can be. Picture This! is a live comedy show with stand-ups, voice actors and more performing while they are drawn live by some of the best animators, cartoonists, and other artists in the biz! The comedians don’t know what the animators are drawing and the animators don’t know how the comedians will react. It may be weird. It may different. But it will be FUNNY! Special Agent Galactica and her (and I quote) “VERY-SEXY-CUTE-BOY Combo” are putting on a pink-haired happy hour show at Black Fox Lounge.

Head to the upstairs of Chief Ike‘s for the always rockin’ Beat City. Pro tip: to celebrate birthdays/whatever you like there’s an open bar for PBR/Natty Boh and Beam shots until 11pm!

If you didn’t get enough burlesque on Thursday, get to the original Phase 1 for the DC Gurly Show’s Wild West-themed hoe-down: Save a Horse, Ride a Gurly.

Chill out at Capital Skyline Pool during Mother Trucker & Sunglass Sunday’s final pool party of the summer. Definite fun in the sun with great food and some good music!

If you’d rather stay out of the sun and see some art-things, check out the Corcoran‘s free summer Saturdays.

Come nighttime, the Green Lantern takes us back to the decade some of us regrettably missed due to not having been born yet or being too young to tease our hair: the 80s! Relive the magic or experience it for the first time at their Tainted Love dance party.

Meanwhile, funny lady Gia Mora relates the science of physics to the art of getting into someone’s pants in Sweethearts & Singletons at Black Fox Lounge.

Or, dance it out with DJ Matt Bailer and The Lady Bunny at Town.

Happy 2nd Birthday OverEasy! Where The Girls Go and dj vANNIEty Kills are celebrating the second anniversary of their monthly summer tea dance for queer grrls at Dodge City. Expect a photobooth with some of the weirdest props we could find and free birthday cupcakes for the first few dozen people who come through the door.

Frolick with fellow LGBTQ Jews in bathing suits at GLOE’s Tel Aviv Beach Bash pool party.

Get your cool music fix from Coup Sauvage & The Snips, Queer Pressure, and Hand Grenade Job at a benefit concert for Collective Action for Safe Spaces at the Black Cat.

And if your version of an idyllic Sunday in the park involves Her HIGHness Shearon Van Riggins officiating a game of Bukkake Extravaganza, join her Fifth Annual Summer Games at Meridian Hill.
