Six months is an awfully long time for a pop-up shop, but lucky for us, that will be the minimum lifetime of the Wydown Coffee Bar‘s stay on this block of U Street. Co-founding brothers Alex and Chad McCracken have set up shop in what used to be Aroma Café while they wait for their space at Louis at 14th to be ready in early 2014. Wydown_08

Currently featuring coffee from PT’s, Intelligentsia and Kaldi’s, the Wydown will be rotating their stock with a combination of local and international beans. Currently, their pastries are provided by Patisserie Poupon in Georgetown, but soon they will start baking in house. Alex makes one of the meanest cappuccinos around, which is no surprise considering his long career in the coffee world. With such a minimalist space, we’re excited to see what they do with it in their short stay.

The Wydown’s hours are 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Monday – Saturday, and 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sundays.Wydown_10
