I can’t think of a better way to start off this month than by seeing ‘October’s own,’ Drake at D.A.R Constitution Hall, along with one of Young Money’s finest Tyga! Having previously seen Drake at the Bamboozle Festival at the Giants Stadium and when he toured through DC at the 9:30 Club this summer, I know that his concerts are not something to miss…
Tyga opened up the show, his energy packed performance got the crowd really hyped, playing a variety of songs from his mixtapes’ along with his part in the song ‘Deuces’ by Chris Brown.
With a massive gap between performances the crowd of beyond dedicated fans were more than anxious to see Drake when he got on the stage. When ‘Young Money’s running back’ finally appeared on stage, every female in the audience seemed very pleased with his outfit of choice, and him wearing his signature shades. His stage presence was incredible, filled with dance moves that could put Michael Jackson to shame. I had high expectations for his performance since he has a way of always outdoing himself, from show to show. This tour he really went above and beyond with setting off actual fireworks during his performance. Along with the fireworks, hanging from the ceiling of D.A.R. was a large circular structure that was a tribute to label owner, Lil Wayne (who will be released from prison on November 4th) with his face appearing on it.
