DC NEWS YOU CAN (MAYBE) USE…
August 10, 2012 | 3:15PM
Where we talk about stuff (happening in and around D.C.) we didn’t always write about but is still something you may care to get all riled about and comment on. So, without further ado – today, in other D.C. media sources:
- Shark Week starts THIS SUNDAY. Prep with a great interview, wherein Brooke Runnette, Shark Week’s executive producer, talks shark penises, what’s special about the program’s 25-Year Anniversary and keeping it all fresh. (via Washingtonian)

- Say hello to new activist group Chick-Fil-Gays, who want to serve you lunch and/or happy hour every Friday night at Science Club–staring tonight! (via Huffington Post)
- I don’t care what you say; fairs are awesome. To step into one is like walking through a portal to childhood, snacking on cotton candy and riding the same rickety carnival rides you’d ride when you were much younger. (Let’s face it, they’re probably the same rides that were never upgraded.) Here’s a fun look at Arlington County’s own fair. (via WJLA)

(Joshua Yospyn // TBD/WJLA) - And in unpredictable news, a Baltimore firefighter has just been accused of running an illegal sex ring. (via Washington Post)
- And lastly but not least-ly, for some photo inspiration heading into your weekend, check out some of the best DMV-area instagram accounts–fashion, food, politics, music & more. (via Refinery 29)
