June 29, 2012 | 3:00PM
Where we talk about stuff (happening in and around D.C.) we didn’t write about but is still something you may care to get all riled about and comment on. So, without further ado – today, in other D.C. media sources:

- Speaking of which, this heatwave is breaking all kinds of records in D.C.–read up on how the heat is affecting the District and stay safe out there. (via HuffPost DC)
- Here’s a solid look at the inside/underground-side of McMillan Park and Sand Filtration Site. (via We Love DC)
- Is Slacklining taking over D.C.? Get a look at the District’s meet-ups for the tightrope-inclined/people who are way more dexterous than we’ll probably ever be. (via TBD)

(Joshua Yospyn // TBD) - Good news for H Street; Councilmember Marion Barry has withdrawn his opposition to the streetcars down H St. NE. (via Borderstan)
- In sadder transportation news, here’s a reminder that metro fares will increase an average of five percent starting Sunday. (via Washington Post)
- And finally, D.C.’s got a few new vintage showrooms–take a peek inside with Washingtonian and stop by this weekend.
