DC NEWS YOU CAN (MAYBE) USE…
June 18, 2012 | 4:00PM

Where we talk about stuff (happening in and around D.C.) we didn’t write about but is still something you may care to get all riled about and comment on. So, without further ado – today, in other D.C. media sources:

  • Epic #HousePorn ahead: behold a gorgeous roundup of this year’s winners of Washington’s Residential Design Awards. (via Washingtonian)
  • The Shakespeare Theatre Company is asking for an injunction against its landlord and a related near-septupling of its rent; you can read their court filing here. (via Washington City Paper)
  • Though D.C. cab fares jumped earlier this year, there’s at least a miniscule silver lining, now that gas prices have dropped, in that cab gas surcharge fees are getting the axe–though of course they can always return once the prices begin to rise again. (via NBC Washington)
  • For your shopping trip angst when it comes to Columbia Heights:
  • If you’re in support of Hank’s Oyster Bar regaining usage of its entire patio, now there’s a petition you can sign. (via Borderstan)
  • The results are in: on a list of America’s worst-dressed cities, Baltimore places third. (via TBD)
  • There is NO WAY you could get me to move in here: Frazier’s, the funeral home on Rhode Island NW, is slated to become condominiums. I’ve seen that movie. (via Prince of Petworth)
  • D.C. councils are cracking down on single-container, two-and-three packs of beer. Boo, hiss. (via HuffingtonPost DC)
