THURSDAY
- spend the work day getting up to speed on some fresh and not-before-used music: our “TUNES YOU SHOULD F*CKING KNOW THIS WEEK” column is top notch and we just launched a “REC ROOM” column which is all about nerding out about new and worthy hip hop and rap tracks.
- then: if there is one band I’d probably join a pretty literal cult following for – it is CocoRosie, who are playing 930 club tonight and things are going to get just the right kind of super weird and super adorable.
- Penguin Prison seems to be playing DC every other week now but we don’t care since they’re pretty awesome. Tonight, they’re on the bill DJing with The Twelves as part of ALL THINGS GOLD @ U Hall. (enter for a chance to win some tickets here)
- The Twilight Sad are at RNR Hotel (we have a great interview with them coming up)
- Alice Smith is @ The Hamilton
- for theatre lovers (under 30) – get in on this insane and awesome new Arena Stage deal of $15 subscription packs.
- thirstDC continues their stylish/nerd attack on DC in tonight’s partnership with Woolly Mammoth, which yes, does include the new play “YOU FOR ME FOR YOU”
- and, of course, through Nov 18th-FALL FRINGE is happening NOW.
- + ALL SORTS OF other stuff
FRIDAY

- “This Must Be The Place” opened this weekend, and if you are to trust my insane amount of enthusiasm associated with it in our FALL/WINTER Film guide-you need to go see it (Logan will have a full review of it on Friday in our FILM Section, if you want to take facts over speculation into account in your decision process)
- also, if you feel more like staying home AND watching movies, some good stuff got released this week: My Sister’s Sister, the new Spiderman….
