Extended museum hours, gallery tours, adorable people in their Friday night best, dance circles in front of world-class art, and live performances: yes, in case you were wondering, Hirshhorn After Hours is (still) the place to be. Hirshhorn After Hours, has been around for 5 or so years now, making it the official trail-blazer for all those parties you go to at museums now. Over the years, everyone from Dan Deacon to Ian Svenonius, to Spencer Product to Fatback to Mixtape has DJed the evening, thousands upon thousands of people checked out the art and each other and last Friday showed that really, the only way (still) is up.

This time around, and in a move that Warhol would have approved of if he was alive in 2011, the Hirshhorn team turned to DFA records, which, as we all know, can do NO WRONG this year, and delivered a DJ set from Nancy Whang (of LCD Soundsystem) plus a very special, first-ever in DC performance by Gavin Russom’s latest project Crystal Ark, which was, well, special.

Read our interview with Gavin here, make sure you check out WARHOL’S Shadows which are on display in the museum RIGHT NOW (which one is your favorite?) and since photos also (Still) speak more than a 1000 words, enjoy these without further ado:
