Tim & Eric were at The State Theatre in Falls Church this past Wednesday for their Chrimbus Spectacular live show. Remember to trim your Chrimbus bushes so Mr. Winter will leave you presents!
The show was a marked improvement over the 2009 show at 6th & I Synagogue. They seemed to have learned that what works on a 15 min show spoofing cable access doesn’t necessarily translate well to a live performance in front of a sold out crowd. The sketches, tied together with new video segments, were tight and well rehearsed, yet still maintained the air of bizarre awkwardness they’ve gotten down to a science. Neil Hamburger opened the show with a hilarious set and threw a drink at some girls face who was talking, and their fake band Pusswhip Banggang ended the show with shitty old man bar band renditions of some of their best songs. Including this one.
Petite Feet was one song from their show that really worked on it’s own without ever having seen the video, and is one of the handful of Tim & Eric tracks I’d sneak into DJ sets when nobody was paying attention. But this excellent Deblin & Ghostdad remix can be blasted at midnight with the added sultry vocals of Sylvia Gordon.
