BYT Fav Song of the Day: Summer Camp
cale | Sep 2, 2010 | 4:30AM |

The last summer camp of the summer is this sat, so it’s about time we did a Summer Camp song.

So we’re officially in the second decade of the millennium… when they make the “best songs of the decade” list years from now, what do they call this one?  I love the 10s?  Whatever it is, I wonder how much 2010 will influence.  There has def been a recurring vibe this year, a bouncy catchy lo-fi but not too lo-fi indie pop with cute female vocals vibe.  Tennis, Cults, Sleigh Bells, Best Coast, etc.  I’m def not sick of it yet.  Add the London duo Summer Camp to your roster.  Bring on more of the same.  It won’t change your life, you probably won’t remember them 5 years from now, but right now it’s great and it will make us happy.

Their EP is out this Monday containing the first two fun singles Ghost Train and Round the Moon.  Here is the b-side Montegomery Avenue 1984:

O'Donnell (JFOD) is currently a 'Political Correspondent' on the comedy news television show 'Redacted Tonight w/ Lee Camp' on RT America. According to the Comedy Central Insider, "John F. O'Donnell is one of the more explosive comics in New York City. On stage, he's like a tightly capped liter of soda filled with lit fireworks." John has been featured in The New York Times, The LA Times and The Huffington Post, as well as being one of Comedy Central's Fresh Faces of Comedy. Most recently, JFOD has been given a Congressional Press Credential and will be covering the Presidential Debates on location for 'Redacted Tonight,' which, if you know him, seems like a terrible breach of security. This very special stand up event will be directed by the brilliant composer/producer/filmmaker and founding member of Fugazi, Brendan Canty.
